My Purpose

Early in my art career I struggled with what now feels like a silly distinction— create abstract/conceptual art to be exhibited in galleries in a high-end price point or create art that is more accessible, affordable, and straight forward. In college it was called the struggle of “fine art vs. craft art”. And I have to admit, I turned my nose down at craft for a long time. I considered it a “less than” form of art. I didn’t want art to only function as something beautiful. I wanted it to have deeper meaning and provoke intellectual conversation and dialogue. Beauty for beauty’s sake wasn’t enough…

I think about it now and shake my head. Beauty is VITAL to our world. It uplifts our souls, puts smiles on our faces, makes our world feel good and right. I had massively overlooked the value in that. I also overlooked the fact that beautiful, accessible, affordable, and straight forward art CAN ALSO challenge, encourage conversation, and have deeper meaning.

Getting to this place has been a long road. I have gone through seasons when my art felt like a pipe dream that would just never happen. This was especially true as I navigated motherhood and raising small children. But I learned through each step what is truly important to me and what is necessary.

I know this is what I am made to do. The art will change and evolve over time, but my purpose will not. I am committed to bringing you art that adds beauty to your space, art that makes you smile, art that is affordable, but also art that challenges, encourages conversations, and has deeper meaning.

Thank you for caring!

Hello friends. My name is Erin.

My art background is in a little bit of everything. I received my undergrad and graduate degrees in studio art, worked several years in galleries, was a university drawing instructor, and each school year I am a musical-theater-set-designer-extraordinaire! I’m thrilled to add small business owner to that list.

Now for the better introduction: I’m a mother of 3 amazing kids, the wife of THE greatest husband ever, and a follower of Jesus. I enjoy hunting for vintage treasures, coffee with my oxygen, and if there’s a friend to share the coffee-drinking-time with, even better.
